The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority. To this end, we are modifying our standard policies to accommodate the special circumstances that have resulted from the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. We continue to follow the guidance of the federal, state, and local authorities concerning the pandemic. Specifically, we are monitoring the updates provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). As of today, no known cases of the virus have emerged in our area. For our part, we intend to comply fully with the direction of the appropriate authorities, and above, to ensure the wellbeing of our guests and employees. We will continue to observe this evolving situation and attempt to provide for all possible contingencies.
We are taking preventative measures to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. In our guest rooms and public areas, our staff are taking added steps to disinfect commonly touched objects multiple times per day. Furthermore, personal hygiene standards are being impressed upon guests and employees. Specifically, proper handwashing, self-isolation for those with symptoms of any illness, social distancing -consciously increasing the distance between individuals, and refraining from customary social traditions, such as shaking hands.
We recommend the following CDC handwashing guidelines:
Follow these five steps every time.
- Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
- Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
Until further notice, any guest who prefers to reschedule or cancel future reservations that were booked directly may do so without penalty at any time. Please contact the Front Desk to complete your cancellation by calling 1-812-682-4431.
Guests who have booked through a third party, such as an online travel agent, should contact the third party to cancel directly. If any issues arise in canceling your reservation with the third party, please contact the New Harmony Inn Front Desk to receive further instructions.
